Our History

Heritage Candles was founded in 1991 by a husband and wife in their family dining room. It was originally called The Southern Candle Factory, which specialized in hand-carved candles. In 1992, they began to concentrate on scented candles, and the business name was permanently changed to Heritage Candles offering five fragrances in one style of jar. With time, Heritage Candles increased the variety of scents and jars that we offered and in 2001 the candle company was purchased by Leigh McArthur. Encouraged by our customers' enthusiasm for great candles, we later moved from Stockbridge, Georgia into a larger facility in Tucker, Georgia. Our two boys have grown and moved out now, but their teenage years were filled with weekend shows and summer jobs making and selling candles.

Today, Nancy handles our order desk and customer service with great care. Joyce supervises production and our skilled employees making your candles. It's a team effort, and it's fun that we smell good going home each day!
